Empowerment and Technology
1. Social media has become a big help during calamities. It allows families to quickly share updates about their safety and location. Social workers and rescuers can also use it to find people who need help and to spread important announcements. The government uses social media to give real-time information, warnings, and relief schedules. It helps everyone stay connected and informed even when traditional communication is difficult.
2. In the past, people only relied on TV, radio, and newspapers for updates. Information took longer to reach everyone, and sometimes news came too late. Now, with social media, updates are fast and can reach many people in seconds. Unlike before, anyone can post, share, and receive information anytime and anywhere.
